Dwarf Avocado Tree Staking

Hi everyone. This is my first post on this site. I’m after some advice on my avocado tree.

I have a dwarf wurtz which is growing quite well in a pot for approx 2 years since I purchase from Daley’s. They are quite flimsy so I’ve had to stake to support the trunk. I moved into a bigger pot today and added some extra tall stakes to extend the trunk to full height. Prior to this it was about 2/3 it’s height since the trunk was bending over. I was hoping for a new trunk to shoot up but it never happened. It was quite bushy before and now it’s quite exposed.

I’m after advice from experienced people if I should leave like this OR go back to how it was.

Thanks in advance.
