jo, I don't believe there are any dwarf jackfruit but grafted named types are smaller and can be pruned to 2m-2.5m and still be productive.

Hi Mike,
Thanks very much for your response. Do you grow this plant and if so, how many years does it take to fruit?
Thanks and regards.
Jo

Golden Nugget is supposed to be a naturally smaller tree. It will still grow to 8-odd metres if allowed, but is one of the easier ones to keep pruned to that 2 meter mark than most. Smaller fruits.
You are better off looking for a variety you like the taste of and keeping it pruned, than looking for a dwarf that might not have the flesh type you are after.

BJ that is true and there are around 6 or 7 named varieties like that but seedlings of them will get way bigger than 8m.There ar lots of variety charts around but they miss out many of the best types.I have a mystery variety orange crunchy seedling that fruited 6 months after planting but it was 1.1m tall when it went in the ground. Two to three years for grafted ones to fruit is pretty standard around here and a little longer in cooler and drier places.

I have a dwarf Jack-fruit tree (tasty orangey flesh) back in Brunei. The first time it fruited, the fruit touched the ground. I don't know the breed, so unable to buy one here if I want to and besides, like you folks said, there are no dwarfs available. Wish I could get a seed from my jack fruit tree which has some fruits at this time..(sigh).
