With the early ,heavy pressure from fruit flies this year,I put out my fruit fly bait. The instructions were very precise -a dilution of 1 to 6.5 ,not 6 ,not 7 . After spotting the bait on the trees ,the solution dries . My question is why the precision in diluting if in the end it dries out anyway?

It's a byproduct of the dilution from the commercial strength packets.

Householders buy a weaker version that orchardists. That dilution would have been a stock satndard ratio, when the APVMA makes them dilute the product to sell to householders, you get that wacky ratio.

That is interesting ,Jimmy. Do you know whether the orchardist's strength works out cheaper?

Thanks for your help. I think the prices at Bugs for Bugs are generally quite high. There is another brand of protein autolysate and spinosid that is one third cheaper that I saw at Elders . The name escapes me but it is there and the formulation is the same.
