Varos1911 starts with ... Hi fellow gardeners, My Elberta peach tree has started to set fruit. It was put transplanted into the ground earlier this year. I was inspecting the tree this afternoon, and i came across these green eggs/larvae on the leaves. About 15 leaves had this, and i took them off the tree and burnt the leaves... What are these larvae looking lumps and how is it treated, if it needs to be treated?

LeviGarden says... Hi Varos1911, Looks like peach leaf curl - fungal disease. A little late to treat now with the exception of picking affected leaves off as you've already been doing. The rest of your tree looks healthy so I don't think it'll have much of an effect on your fruit. I wouldn't worry too much, just continue to pick affected leaves as you see them. In future seasons, leaf curl can be controlled by applying fungicide in late winter/early spring at, and/or before bud swell. | About the Author LeviGarden BALGOWNIE,2519,NSW 25th October 2022 4:01pm #UserID: 30257 Posts: 3 View All LeviGarden's Edible Fruit Trees |
