Leah starts with ... i need some advice to set up my espalier trellis for dwarf apples please. i have purchased 4 varieties of dwarf apples on MM102 rootstock from Daleys. is there a reason that many sites recommend only two horizontal wires (why not 3 or 4 or more??). also what happens when you get to the "top"? do you just keep trimming off the vertical shoots? many thanks for your advice Leah | About the Author Leah1 Lower Beechmont, Gold Coast Hinterland 23rd January 2009 8:05am #UserID: 1856 Posts: 7 View All Leah1's Edible Fruit Trees |

peter says... eve, i had a look at the above link and under their espallier tab they show diagrams with 4 wires. you can also look at www.rarefruit-sa.org.au and follow their espallier tabs. | About the Author peter30001 adelaide 23rd January 2009 12:35pm #UserID: 593 Posts: 293 View All peter30001's Edible Fruit Trees |

Kath says... I am planning on espaliering apricot/plum/peach & nectarine-this is my first attempt & have been reading the links people have put up. Is it as complicated as it looks or am I just paranoid I won't be able to shape them properly? Are all these trees suitable-I haven't found much on apricots? Thanks for any advice. | About the Author KathK Karnup W.A. 4th June 2009 1:35pm #UserID: 1744 Posts: 187 View All KathK's Edible Fruit Trees |
Jimmy says... www.petercoppin.com runs lessons very cheaply in the Perth hills. Poida describes apricots as the "cats" of the fruit world, when they wanna be your friend they will otherwise not. | About the Author 4th June 2009 5:49pm #UserID: 0 Posts: View All 's Edible Fruit Trees |
