I am in Sydney, and yes they do lose their leaves in winter.
As for fruiting, I don't know this is only my 2nd year growing it.

thanks for that. I have a plant which has dropped all it's leaves so at least I know that's normal now! I haven't actually tasted a goji berry yet -fingers crossed for next year maybe??

My plants (four) lost all their leaves, though fairly late. I noticed the other day they had tiny buds coming along, so the cold here in the hills hasn't killed them!
I grew them from seed last year, so I hope I see some fruit this summer.

Bit over a two years from planting some dried berries from the health food isle, a few picked today.
Taste better than the dried stuff and better than the rehydrated berries.
