Hedgerows

Can anyone suggest species to establish no fencing hedgerows. Thought I was onto something with the round finger lime, combined with rugosa roses, some bouganvilla, australian holly etc. then found out the limes were very slow growing. Suggestions anyone for poor country in a fairly moist area?

Lori, I think Edible hedges are the way to go. Feijoas were a great suggestion along with jaboticabas and strawberry guava. Also what about the magneta Cherry Hedge Plant. It is very popular and you can usually pick them up in tubestock for about $3 each.

Here is some more information on edible Hedges I got for you.

Daleys Edible Hedge Newsletter - Was discussed in depth about half way down the page back in 2002.
