Hi all...I need some help please?! Does anyone know what causes such perfect holes in my baby plums? There is only one per fruit - it goes all the way to the middle and I can't see any bugs on the tree at all? There's no bug inside and no bug poo?
(and please don't tell me nocturnal camels..?? :))))

Really Peter? that's weird!..do they climb trees do u think? can't say I have noticed them around but are they nocturnal? Does the hole go thru to the stone/seed? some exit out the back like a bullet wound!

havnt seen holes going all the way through thou.
cant tell how large your holes are on
the photos but mine are only as big as
the body of the earwig.

ground hidding in a passi leaf.

THanks Peter - does anyone else in WA get this? I will have a look around in the mulch for earwigs in the meantime...am just wondering if there is something we might have over here that u don't over there Peter.
The holes are quite small - those fruit about 5 cent piece size. I have never noticed a "fresh" hole - but will look again 2day - they are always browned out/dry looking as in the pic. I might put some vaseline around the trunk too!
