Illawarra plums (forum)

I am chasing quantities of Illawarra plum fruits also known as brown pine plums.
Anything from 100kg to a tonne of de-seeded fruits (the seed is external, like a cashew fruit) would be good.

i wish i could help you..
have been munching on these lately, they have an anti-oxidant level 2-3 times blueberries (very, very high)
I am curious as to what you'll be doing with such large quantities ?
the plum pine is just waiting for someone to grow commercially and fill a niche bushfood/health market
good luck with your search

Paul, Vic Cherikoff is probably Australia's most well known marketer and promoter of Australian bush foods. He has his own brand of native cooking ingredients and used to have a cooking show on the telly. He's probably making something plummy to go with all those native limes he was chasing.

Hi Dekka,
Thanks for the rave. There's lots happening in the world of authentic Australian foods. I'm in the middle of a US tour as I write, where I am promoting my new Vic Cherikoff Down Under range for Bristol Farms, Citarella and Wholefoods Markets and my new natural preservative for foods and beverages is going ballistic too.
Btw, you can still see my cooking show on www.joost.com and it'll also be on www.hulu.com in a couple of weeks.
Cheers,
Vic

Vic,
Do you still need Illawarra plums. I have 5 large fruiting trees that produce quit a volume of fruit. All except one ( very late fruit set) have dropped their fruit this year, but the last tree would 20kg at a guess. What is present retail price?
