Keryn Simpson starts with ...
I have a big jackfruit from Kyoglethe tree is 25ft in high loaded with fruit approx 14 years old fruit drops of hard and green dry small and hard ( 6-8)inches long WHY? anyone out there can help as I femember Jackfruit are large not small dry and on the ground.

Do Jackfruit need pollination from another tree, thefruit that are on the tree appear dry an\d hard, don't know why.Thanking you for your suggestion.
Thought the variety may grow further north?????it has grown well( the tree)

Hi Keryn,
Jackfruit from male flowers are small, long and stumped so they won't grow. The large jackfruit comes from the female flower on the tree. It's a matter of luck whether your fruit develops from the female or male flower.

Thanks for your wealth of knowledgeabout the jackfruit, at last I may of found the problem.So if I understand it right I may still have a female flower polinate and I may still have fruit? Many many thanks!!!!!!!!!
