Jackfruit plant not growing

    1 responses

Gardner starts with ...
I live in Adelaide and bought a jackfruit plant a few years ago. It has not increased in size and only had a handful leaves on it.

I am looking for some advice on how I can make the plant grow? Will it ever fruit?

Jackfruits are very hard to establish in Adelaide. Ideally needs to grow in north facing site that is also protected. Lots of mulch in Summer and no mulch in Winter. Mine got to about 2.5m but then perished due to root rot. Personally I have not a fruiting jackfruit here in Adelaide, maybe others have especially those with glass houses.
