kiwano not fruiting (forum)

anyone had any experiance growing kiwano/african horned melon ive had three plants in since sept/oct in full sun protected position soil ph normal adequate water ive got cucumbers which i think is the same family right next to the kiwano and they are producing heaps yet no flowers on the kiwano also ive given sulphate of potash

thanks for your response jujubbe because the kiwano vines is so prolific ive trimmed it lightly on a number of ocassions so it doesnt take over the garden with no response to flower as yet its been pushing growth for four and a half months on the seed packet it tells me it is a late fruiting plant but the way its looking iwill run out of warm weather detailed info on this plants habit is hard to find any info would be appreciated

just an update my kiwano vine has been in since sept/oct it is now nearly middle of may and im now seeing fruit setting i have read that growth habit is similar to cucumber but my cucs have long gone does anyone have any experiance growing this vine as info on the net is limited
