Hi there. Just wondering if anyone has had success growing kiwifruit in Perth. I have a male & female about 6-7 years old growing fantastically but no fruit. They have only flowered once about 4 years ago & nothing since. Anyone had any luck?

Hi Kath - my grandparents used to grow them in Roleystone, but they get more chilling over winter up there than on the flats. I'm looking at getting some myself (for Thornlie) - Dexter (available from Daleys) and Vincent (don't know whether anyone sells it in Australia) are listed as having low enough chill requirements for the Perth coastal plain, and are reported to taste really good. Hayward (the most common variety) apparently needs too much cold for Perth. Cheers, Liz

Liz, thanks for that-I will persist as we love them and maybe I need to try again with the varieties you suggested. Good luck with yours.
