Lychee tree -Melbourne frosting (forum)

I got a matured lychee tree one month ago. Now the plant leaves are drying out may be due to frost and winter, however the stem is not. Now I already place the frost cover. What is the best way to recover in Melbourne.

So you scratched the stems and the stems are still alive (green under the bark)? Did you water properly? I have kept mine in a greenhouse ($50-100 at Bunnings depending on size) for about a month now that it has gotten cold, and my lychee trees are fine (not great, but fine). You might need to bring the plant indoors at night or secure the frost cloth so the wind is not bowing in from underneath. Probably your best bet for recovery is keep it alive till the spring and see what it does.

Agreed. It might not be until late Sept/Oct that you see signs of recovery. But if it's not completely dead then it'll probably be fine once it's warmer.
