Mango Tree Frost Protection (forum)

Hello, i have a seedling bowen mango tree which i purchased and recently transplanted into my front yard on boxing day, we receive approximately 3 frosts a winter and i believe they are light but i must admit, i don't pay too much attention to frosts as i have only recently started growing tropical fruits. What would be the best/easiest way to protect it from frost this winter without using the aluminate material you use.
Thanks in advance, Hayden.

Hi Hayden, To protect your little mango tree from frost - put four tall stakes into the ground round your tree and then tie some hessian to the stakes above the tree. This makes a 'roof' to keep the frost off the leaves. You can leave this in place for the whole winter. Happy mango's, Dianna.

dear friends, for frost protection integrated approach is needed, it includes irrigation during expected days, thatching and smudging.
