Do you actually prune a large mango tree, such as the R2E2? If so, what time of the year do you do it?

Hi Walter,

I think you can prune about a third of the branches after fruiting, to keep it a manageable size and increase air circulation. You won't get fruit for a while on the pruned branches I think, that's why not to do all in the one year. They seem to cope well. I've seen large mangoes cut back to stumps and grow back fine.
