Hi there - bought four citrus from you a year or so ago and the first year they blossomed and some fruit - this year NOTHING - no blossom and therefore no fruit- Can you help? They are very healthy with huge green leaves but no fruit. These are in self watering pots.

Hi Pat - your trees are still a bit young for much fruit - but - maybe you are overfeeding them with nitrogen also? (= big green leaves and no blossoms)
Give them time to develop a strong framework in order to carry the fruit. Usually the 3rd year is about right.

I removed all of the fruit from my citrus trees for the first 2 yrs and concentrated on pruning. My Key lime is 4yrs old and 1.5m tall - it carried 15kg's of fruit this season - no problems. This is a heavy load for a small tree - but the branches are strong now! :-)

My oranges and mandarins are a year younger (3) - but not anywhere near this level yet. Maybe next year.

You may set your trees back if you force them to carry fruit they are not ready for.

Thanks so much Amanda for your reply - I didn't mention they are dwarf varieties and I did wonder whether no bees were the problem - thanks a lot for taking the time to reply and I will be a bit more patient! Cheeers - Pat
