Hi,
I hope someone can tell me what is going on with my Gulf Ruby plums. Only a small percentage of the fruit is effected. There are no abrasions on the skin, no early fruit drop, and they taste normal. It's netted so no fruit fly.
I'm near Maleny in Qld.

That was my biggest concern, but I sent the photos to biosecurity Qld and they have advised me that it is sunburn.

Hi Geraldine2,
Yes, it is a result of sun burn. It happened to my plum trees last year during the hot days in summer. You need to cover the top part of the remain fruits to stop the damage goes further. Remove all the damaged fruits as it taste less when it ripes. Cheers
