Passionfruit flowers dropping (forum)

My passionfruit flowers are dropping off. Is this because of the cold weather perhaps? The plant is very healthy but it does seem to attract some ants on the plant itself (none of my other fruiting plants get ants on them.

It does sound like it might be a pollination problem. Have you tried hand pollinating.
I think you need dry weather for pollination to take place then after the fruit is set they need the water.
Kath did a great blog on passionfruit flowers found here:

Leona, it may be due to a virus that passionfriut inhabitly get. If you get not fruit from a good growing plant then ditch it and start again not in the same hole. Nothing you can do about the disease. On the other hand try burying a lambs fry or just use some iron chelates and see if helps. sorry. good luck

Please feed your passion fruit with sulphate of potsh both root feed and dissolve in water and foliage spray. Then stand back. You will be AMAZED. Visualise Jacks beanstalk on steroids.
