G'day all,
I bought a suruga persimmon bare rooted from Daley's this year and have had it in the ground for a while now. It's currently the only one of my fruit trees that has not leafed out at all. No new buds looking like kicking into gear though It's definitely alive. I'm located in Western Vic.
Is this normal?
Thank you.

Hi Gramps Grower,
It's not normal. After dormant in winter all the persimmon trees will have new young shoots and leaf out from last month in Victoria. You need to inspect the root ball to see if it still alive. I had one issue 7 years ago, when I ordered the Almond bare root from PlantNet in QLD and it never wake up. It's still a mystery to me. Hope it just a delay due to strange weather this year. Cheers.

Thanks David,
I scratched the bark and it's still green, haven't played around with the roots though.
I hope it comes to life soon, they're one of my favourite fruits.
