I'm pretty sure birdwood are the only nursery growing clonal phyto resistant avocado trees. With a huge waiting list for farmers only at the moment, costs will by high as they will be grafted twice. Watch this weeks gardening Australia on abc iview for a section about this very topic.

I think if they sell for a squillion more we are being ripped off - as in USA - clonal graft Avos in a 5 gallon pot are only $10 more - theyve been doing clonal there for years - if i could get some of that rootstock I would give it a go - Actuaally spoke to BW about clonal 2 years ago and they felt they were no better than seed grafted so go figure?
He also said no real perfect phyto resistant rootstocks anyway - even the original Hass tree in LA died of Phyto eventually
