Granger starts with ... Hi,can anyone offer advice on this one. After 6 years,my Pinkabelle finally set 4 fruit.Disappointingly, after just one month,3 of the tiny fruit have dropped off.The soil is moist, mulched and fertile and the fruit is bagged against fruit fly.Is this normal for the first set of fruit? | About the Author Granger Parramatta 10th November 2013 8:41am #UserID: 7752 Posts: 8 View All Granger's Edible Fruit Trees |

John Mc says... You could be lacking a pollinator, apples need a pollinator in order to set fruit. Pinkabelle is partially self fertile which probably explains your lacklustre result. You will most likely get good fruit set if you get a pollinator like Granny Smith or a crab-apple. I grafted a crab-apple branch onto my Pinkabelle that gave me a much better result. | About the Author JohnMc1 10th November 2013 10:18pm #UserID: 2743 Posts: 2043 View All JohnMc1's Edible Fruit Trees |
