Hooray my Carolina black rose is fruiting away. Does anyone has any idea how I can protect grape bunches from birds and possums? Any ideas or any suppliers you know sell some protective bags that i can buy?

Thanks Diana! I checked out the site wow lots of products and really expensive. Wish I have a sewing machine so I can do all the bags myself haha!

Anyway I think bagging is out for now cos I just confirmed that possums are coming to my garden!!! I found possum droppings around my plum tree few days back. I think they are the ones nipping off young plum shoots and maybe that is why I dont ever get more than 10 plums a year. The tree is very large and needs trimming off large branches close to the roof where they can jump onto from the tree. I know they will come for my grapes/grapevine since it is growing so close to the roof. I have to get strong nets instead and net my whole grapevine from gutter downwards.

BTW, I have been pruning my grapevine though it is spring, cos they are growing really wild...so many new shoots. Better to have fewer bunches and bigger grapes than more and small...
