My beloved Moorpark apricot tree has just died after 25 very productive years. Is it unwise to plant another apricot tree in this same site?

Hey mate, read your post and found an old article I read about this topic from a farm in rural VIC. https://growgreatfruit.com/organic-disease-control/replant-fruit-tree/
In short, you shouldn't replant an apricot or any other prunus (peach, plum, cherry, almond, etc.) where your old apricot grew.
I would avoid anything in the rose family altogether, including apple, pears, loquats, and medlar.
Plant a citrus tree, walnut, hazelnut, elderberry or anything that is completely unrelated to stonefruits.
