Rosella & Cape Gooseberry (forum)

Why do some of my rosella plants have green stems - will they produce fruit like the red stemmed plants? How do I protect Cape Gooseberry from pests. I've tried garlic and chilli spray and am now trying pyrethrum. First it was 28 spot lady beetle and now its black and yellow striped cucumber beetle. The bug larvae have stripped most of the leaves.

Try Eco oil ,. Resells should be fine , stem colour may be due to sunlight , never had a rosella that didn't produce .

Thanks Potty Bob1 - Have diligently been removing all bugs and bug eggs from Cape Gooseberry bushes - no flowers so no fruit. Rosella plants gave me about 6 fruit and now nothing - no flowers - have pruned top off plants as they were all about 6ft tall hoping they would bush out and fruit - no luck yet. Have grown Rosella before and had no problems with fruiting but can't remember how long they took to fruit.
