Satsuma plum (forum)

I have just planted a Satsuma plum and the notes indicate that it may need another plum tree for pollination. As it says it is partly self pollinating I'm wondering if I'll need to plant another plum or let nature take it's course? Have other gardeners had experience with this fruit? I'd appreciate advice as I don't want to plant another tree uneccessarily.

If your in a metro area try using the surrounding ornamentsal trees as a source of pollen, thise purple plums have become really trendy. If that doesn't work, plant a pollinator.
