hello,as a child at Medowie,we enjoyed going out into our yard and eating fruit off our trees, I dont remember at any stage, my parents coating out trees with any chemicals, out in the yard, eat it off the trees, and ground vegatables.
That is how it was,now I am in my later life,my husband 65 ,me 60.
We have a small peice of land, have done all the required information as to how to protect your fruit trees, and they are loaded with fruit fly grubs
HELP ME!

I too enjoyed a similar experience in the Hunter. In my suburban block I find that exclusion bags are best to block both fruit fly and some birds. Recently some birds tore into the bags to get the fruit. I do find that the bags seem to delay ripening.

I also make sure that any susceptible fruits and vegetables [including such as "seeds" on clivia] are either bagged or removed.

Of course this remedy may not be suitable depending on time and fruit numbers. See the other entries on fruit fly for options other people have selected
