Something eating Flame Tree leaves (forum)

My flame tree has been in the ground 7 weeks. It's approx 3 metres tall and taking well. I can't see what's eating its leaves. Little holes appearing in the new growth(tiny, partially isolated), select limbs with older leaves had had the leaves eaten out but the skeletons of the leaves intact. I'm going to go out and check it during the night over the next couple of days. Someone suggested check for earwigs, and there some about the yard. The only other thing that I notice: it tends to have ants busily cruising its limbs, perhaps 20-ish at a time. Any ideas of omething to look out for?

Sounds like looper caterpillars, the buggers are green and blend in very well with the leaves, try looking at night with a torch.
