Tamarillo

What happened to my baby?
I was so excited about the tamarillo tree I grew from seed to a height of 2m plus in under 18 months.
It had heaps of fruit coming along then it died quickly.
We were in a drought and she needed lots of watering and caught her wilting a couple of times.
Then we got rain and quite a bit so I stopped watering.
Leaves started dropping off so I tried small waters and fertiliser and prayers but all to no avail.

They are very thirsty fruit trees and probably became to stressed throughout the drought. They are a short lived perennial, 3-5 years usually. It may shoot back for the base if the trunk is still green and firm. Good luck if it is
