Diana says... Hi Mungbeans, It might be a good idea to talk to your DPI about this, if it is a commercial scale orchard (is it?), because avocados are sensitive. The information at http://www.dpi.nsw.gov.au/agriculture/horticulture/tropical/other/avocado says it is usual to construct barner grass windbreaks (not sure what this grass is), and chop them and use as mulch under trees at four years old. Ti-tree mulch might need extra nitrogen added, e.g. blood and bone (that's what I use), to prevent nitrogen draw-down problems. Good luck, Diana. | About the Author Brisbane 27th January 2010 6:21pm #UserID: 0 Posts: View All 's Edible Fruit Trees |
