Why are our pawpaws falling off the tree? (forum)

We have successfully grown red pawpaws from seeds and they are about 1 year in good growth. We have had some of the baby pawpaws about the size of a large walnut fall off one of the trees.
Can anyone give us comments as to why and what we should do to stop this?

Hello Lorraine
Immature fruit drop is a sign that your Pawpaw trees are lacking Calcium, apply a dressing of DOLOMITE one clenched handful per sq metre under the canopy...and please let us know how you get on

This year I have very little fruit on my trees (apricots, nectarines, peacharines and some blueberries are falling immaturely. Could this be due to wetter weather than usual in winter and spring?

Jill, we had an unusually cold, wet spring this year in WA, and I had very few apricots and about 5 plums! I think it is due to lack of pollination - no bees around in that sort of weather.
A late apricot, and a peach which fruits mid-January did OK though.
