A close relative of the Mamey Sapote but more compact and cold hardier. The green fruit turns to gold when ripe and has a superior sweeter flavour to the Mamey. Seeds can be roasted and eaten. Good drainage is essential.

Very attractive slow growing tree, with dark green leathery leaves. Oval shaped fruits are produced in summer reaching up to 5cm. The white pulp has a pleasant subacid aromatic flavour when ripe. Excellent potted patio plant.
