Super sweet orange to golden flesh is the most popularly variety in Australia. It requires warm sunny conditions in a subtropical climate. A highly productive variety.
This guava, native to Brazil, is a hardy shrub or small tree. It has a smooth trunk and dark green, shiny, egg-shaped aromatic leaves. Strawberry guava flowers are white with numerous stamens and red fruits which are about the size of a golf ball. The flesh is sweet and strawberry flavoured. Frost hardy.
Resistant to both 'Berry Disease' and 'Coffee Rust' this tree was developed and recommended for growing in the Northern Rivers Area by NSW Agriculture Department after extensive trials at Alstonville NSW. An open spreading variety, it is a reliable cropper, producing large flavour-filled beans; it is also the recommended variety for those who intend to harvest mechanically.
Late variety, very juicy, holds well well on the tree getting sweeter the longer the fruit are left, they can be picked as required. The ideal variety to extend the season right through to December. Crops very well in the subtropics. Valencis is a well known juicing orange which has a distinctive fresh orange tang.
