This variety produces huge oval fruits that can weight 1-2 kg. One fruit is almost large enough to feed the family! It has superb flavour and delicious smooth flesh. The selection was made from a seedling tree growing in Sunnybank, Qld. Unfortunately, we have not made an assessment as to whether it is A or B, as strong flowering needs to be observed carefully

Used for fresh fruit, juice, stewing, preserving and drying. Early season maturity. Pollinated by 'Beurre Bosc' or 'Nijisseiki' nashi. Partially self-fertile.

A proven early variety that is still very popular today. Excellent colour and flavour; the skin is smooth, glossy, thin and easy to peel. Older trees may develop a biennial bearing habit.
Avocado - Hass (A)

Most popular variety due to both its superior taste and excellent keeping qualities. Medium sized, pear-shaped fruit has an excellent creamy, flesh. The leathery rough dark-purple skin turns to black when ripe. H Aug-Dec. Hass is an A type variety and for good fruit set a B type variety is needed for cross pollination. Suggested varieties to grow alongside a Hass are Shepard, Sharwill, Fuerte, Bacon (if you're in a cooler climate)and Linda. Happy fresh avocado smashing.
