The Jala Avocado produces supersized Australian avocados. They can grow up to four times the size of the usual sized avocados you find in the shops. This is a new release from Fleming's Nurseries Qld, and will be available to the backyard gardener. At this stage, they consider it to be a B type with a good level of self-pollination. More information on this will be available next flowering season 2025. Featured on ABC News websites along with the TV program Landline. The variety is PBR, meaning unauthorised propagation is not allowed.

Deep Aubergine skin conceals a vibrant red strawberry pulp that is superb and rich with complex flavours, notably that of maple sugar. A hardy cultivar that is naturally semi-dwarfing and drought tolerant, Violette de Bordeaux is an excellent choice for those with space and water restrictions. The tree will grow to more than 3m high and wide if not pruned

The trees have good disease resistance, it is a cross between a Guatemalan and a West Indian type avocado and has smooth green skin when ripe.Daleys is starting production of these in spring 2018 and anticipate having trees for sale by spring 2020.
