Indian Almond Tree

Also known as the Sea Almond or Tropical Almond, it is common throughout SE Asia, growing wild as well as cultivated for its striking features and tasty nut. A deciduous tree it can shed its leaves twice a year. In Autumn the leaves turn into colours of red, copper, gold. This tree has a characteristic pagoda shape because it sends out a single stem from the top center. When the single stem reaches a good height, it sends out several horizontal branches. It can get very large reaching 30m in ideal conditions. The fruits are almond-shaped and green turning brown to purple when ripe. The fibrous shell surrounds an edible nut. This shell helps the fruit to float as the seed is dispersed by water. The nuts are edible, taste very much like almonds, although it can be a challenge to remove the flesh from the hard stone. The Sea Almond can be eaten raw. Oil extracted from the dried nuts is edible and used in cooking. Recommended for Tropical climates as it is cold sensitive, but is wind, salt and drought tolerant.

The Blue Mountain Kenya coffee is one of the highest rated coffee varieties in the world with an outstanding balance of flavour, body and aroma. An excellent garden variety similar to K7 in growth, with a less dense habit. When grown in acidic soil this characteristic will transfer to a sweet and tart flavor in the beans. Blue Mountain Kenya matures a little earlier than K7 and does not crop as heavily because of its more open branching.Both varieties have bronze colored new tip growth which becomes green as the leaves mature.

This mulberry has a very low chill factor making it ideal for our subtropical climate. Pruning after fruiting allows it to be kept under 3mtrs, and also encourages multiply cropping throughout the summer. It is best to pick the fruit when ripe, as it doesn't ripen further off the tree. A benefit of a mulberry tree is that the fruit ripens over an extended period of time unlike other fruit that often ripens all at once. The fruits of the black mulberry, considered the tastiest and most versatile of the mulberries are large and juicy with a good balance of sweetness and tartness. The fruit of the dwarf black mulberry is the same as that on the large black mulberry that we all know and love. The fruit is large, resembling a blackberry, sweet and luscious. This seedless orange is a bud sport of the Valencia, maturing a little earlier, its a heavy cropper so youll have loads of Oranges to make delicious OJ. Its a sweet orange that is the favoured choice for juicing. Attractive compact tree. Often it will carry new season blossoms whilst also holding ripening fruits, as they stay well on the tree into summer. The scent of orange blossoms in the air is a wonderful aroma to indulge in. Orange - Lanes Late

Seedless variety, maturing later than all other navels, usually mid July through to October. Thin smooth rind. The fruits are similar to the Washington but they are picked a couple of months later in the season. They are therefore a great companion tree to plant with a Washington navel or a Navelina for an extended fruiting season of navel oranges.
