Famous for it bushy fronds and slightly bulbous base, it lends a exotic, tropical look to landscaping. Able to survive heat, salt winds and seasonally dry conditions. Slow growing. If you ever have to remove them, the heart is also edible and quite palatable.

Palm - Wooly Jelly

Shake the fruit branch daily to harvest ripe Butia, fruit can be very tart if unripe. Good in a cold climate. Likes moist boggy environment. Prune understory fronds in summer - dried fronds make excellent kindling.
