Planted and left unharvested first season. Cut down and mulched after tops died off, cow manure added over winter. Second season fantastic! Coming into our third and we are thrilled with them. 9 of 10 thrived, replaced 1 crown.
Asparagus
Best hilled for better drainage. Remove seed heads as it can easily become a weed in warmer areas. Delicious lightly steamed and served with extra-virgin olive oil, chopped basil and cracked black pepper.
