Chillilover there is probably more chance of the martians landing in Sydney than rambutans growing and fruiting. At the current rate of climate change by the year 3012 it could be a different story. Rongrien rather than the Malaysian and Indonesian types seems to be a bit more cold tolerant and the odd tree makes it past latitude 19.They are in Rusty's market at the moment.I have some seedlings I was going to approach graft with in the yard but will probably marcot. How keen are you?

OK John Mc I'll supply the durian, rambutan and mangosteen trees/seeds(and anything else I can get) and you can perform the horticultural wizardry.I suspect it could take a time tunnel that delivers you to a future tropical NSW climate scenario.I will gladly eat my words if I'm wrong.

Chillilover they are equatorial not just tropical and need heat, high uv and humidity. They struggle with low humidity and cool night temperatures.I doubt Mackay people could grow them.Lychees and longans are subtropical and a way better bet in Sydney.

If that is canistel or eggplant it will be easy in Sydney.I found that I got discouraged by unsuccessfully trying unsuitable plants when I could have been growing ones that flourished.
