Mike says... My ones especially wurtz and shepard get spotted by them as well. They are alright to eat but leave hard lumps to be avoided. It can make the avocado fruit more prone to dropping off and fungal rots when ripening. They also bite the new growth and flower stalks.Tea leaf bugs are a worse pest of avocadoes at my place. | About the Author Cairns 7th July 2011 5:53pm #UserID: 0 Posts: View All 's Edible Fruit Trees |

amanda says... I think this is what is doing the same to my passionfruit..? Something 'stings' the green fruit and they ripen up fine - except it leaves quite a few very hard lumps in the skin that you can see on the inside of the skin too? Edit: apparently we don't have it in WA - so it must be something else..? Do fruit fly try to sting immature passionfruit? (there no maggots ever inside..) | About the Author amanda19 Geraldton.
