black sapote - very pale new leaves

I'm wondering if this is a normal thing with black sapotes. The new leaves are very pale, almost white. Most seem to become a dark green with time but some stay very pale.

Maybe this is some sort of deficiency that I need to remedy with a dilute application of something?

can't help as to why, just letting you know mine are like that too. I had it in the greenhouse during its first winter here. I just thought given it hadn't got a lot of light it went that way. looking forward to seeing hopefully nice new glossy green leaves again soon.
