Blueberries

    1 responses

Would like to grow a row of blueberries and need cross pollination. Would like all same size roughly (can prune). Saw the large fruit of Kisses but 20-30cm high bush is perfect too. What would be a good sized companion?

Pauline Staff of Daley's Nursery says...
Blueberries come in two different and distinct varieties that only pollinate each other within their group. Rabbiteyes are vigorous bushes with silvery leaves and must have another variety from within its group to set fruit. The High Bush varieties benefit from pollination ie you will likely get more fruit, however its often not necessary. Southern High Bush are the more warm tolerant and Northern High Bush are the varieties that need chill to flower. You can have a look at our website for more information on the ones we stock
