Bunnings have 3 varieties of blueberries. Is it time to plant out in Melbourne?

Hi Mandy,

I would wait till winter (when they will become dormant). They will be going through a growth spurt about now.

I repotted my first blueberry last summer and its now dead. I repotted another during winter and its now thriving.

Hi John,
Your ladyfinger banana looks cool & quite tall... How old is it& what cover do you use to protect against winter's frost?

Hi Juanita,
I planted the ladyfinger early December last year.

I did an experiment with my bananas, during winter to see how frost would effect them. I didn't protect my ladyfinger at all and I built a box around my Red Dacca and completely covered it with frost cloth. The frost cloth did absolutely nothing (you can see from the picture under my profile that all the leaves died from the frost). All my banana plants have now bounced back and are doing well.

Hi Eddie,
Good tip, I'll try the bubble wrap next winter. Your dwarf cavendish are coming along well. My bananas were off to a slow start this year because of the frost damage.
