Lissa says... Another interesting plant you are after Rich :) Are you from Malaysia yourself? Known as jentik jentik OR gentik gentik is a dioecious plant, so it has to be ensured while planting that each female tree has a male tree too nearby. http://www.fruitipedia.com/jentik_jentik_baccaurea_polyneura.htm Would Rambai be the same thing? http://tropicalfruitfarm.com.my/pdf/Rambai-k.pdf Tropical Fruit Farm at Penang might give advice on where to buy plants in Australia: http://tropicalfruitfarm.com.my/ Would love to hear if you do find plants here for growing. Quick search of Daleys themselves and they sell Rambai: https://www.daleysfruit.com.au/Rambai-Baccaurea-motleyana.htm

Rich13 says... Hi Lissa, I'm not from Malaysia, I have just been reading about these plants and the fruit sounds delicious, so thought I would try and find them. Rambai seems to have a different botanical name to the jentik jentik, and the fruit described is different too. But thanks for all your help, I'll keep hunting :) | About the Author Rich13 WONGA PARK,3115,VIC 9th April 2017 2:58pm #UserID: 15847 Posts: 6 View All Rich13's Edible Fruit Trees |

Linton says... Hi Rich It is the wrong season for both Jentik (Baccaurea polyneura) and Olosapo so it's highly unlikely that you will find seeds at this time. Sounds like you need to establish some contacts in far north Queensland who might be able to assist you further. In any case, I have found that other Baccaurea species were unable to survive in Melbourne as they seem to be strictly ultra tropical. Think you would need a heated glasshouse to have any chance of success.
