I have a 10 year old white sapote casimiroa edulis which has never flowered, and a 6 year old grumichama which flowers but never fruits. Can anyone explain the problems?

Jon is the Casimiroa a seedling? because that would be about the time it would start to flower, Some grafted ones take time, my reinecke commerical took 7 years to flower but I think it was lacking in some nutrients because once I added some it flowered heavily straight away and now has fruit on it

Just thought I'd add that 3 out of 4 of my bigger seedling Casimiroas are flowering a little bit now at ages 7-9 years. No fruit set yet but it can't be far away

Beuty Jason, the fun bit will be the first taste of the new strains, to see if they are good or not, are you going to get a couple of fruity mates around for the trial.

Jason: the casimiroa was sold to me by a nurseryman at one of the mkts...it's supposed to be a hybrid. It's now 5 meters high and stout. I'll try putting miracle grow on it next spring. Thanks. Anyone know about the grumichama flowers that all fall off w/o fruit? Jon

I just thought of another question which has been bugging me...I tried to join gardenweb's forum which has a rather lengthy registration form, but it seems to have lots of information. When I filled out the form, (and had to fake some of the questions because they were set up for a US address) they sent me the Congratulations note in the email but not the activation hypertext...so my application never went thru!! Has anyone else been succesful in applying to gardenweb and if so, any suggestions? Jon
