Has anyone had any success with A. Squamosa scionwood grafted onto Cherimola rootstock? I did a few recently, just before those massive hot days and they're not looking too good. Not sure if it was the hot weather or it just doesn't work?

Why would you want A squamosa on cherimoya? It's like swapping Cordon Bleu for a meatpie.

I'm having trouble getting A.Squamosa to fruit here, I thought the Cherimoya rootstock might help, and the Cherimoya fruit that I got the seed from was horrible.

What was the cherimoya that you found "horrible" ? A grafted variety or seedling? I have yet to meet anyone who dislikes cherimoya..

Hello Gimme, what have you to swap for cherimoya root stock? I've long lusted after Champaigne loquat. Would be prepared to pay for it if you bought it in Brisbane and posted it.

The fruit came off what appears to be a seedling originated tree we estimated to be at least 30 to 40 yo. I have tried many of the fruits over several years and have not found one palatable fruit yet. It appears to go "off" before it completely ripens.

I have an ancient custard apple like that John--or maybe it is a sugar apple, not sure. Anyway it never gives good fruit. I think over the holidays I'll rip it out, not a fan of that family of fruits in any case apart from rollinia.
