Hi Francie,

Our chestnuts range in climate suitability, so you would be in the cool temperate range in Sale I believe. I would recommend and Emerald Gem or April Gold as our best sellers for the range, otherwise Winchester or Reilly are commonly sought after.

I hope this helps,

Greetings Caleb :), ta v much for such a prompt response. I have used italian chestnuts and flour in the past and suspected the Marcone may be an italian variety maybe? I am indeed in Sale (Gippsland) at present, but will be looking at planting on a block in the Eden (NSW) region on the coast. Very even temperate kinda micro climate in some ways. Would a Winchester be a good dependable and robust cross for the Marcone. The Eden climate and area is great for citrus but can be challenging for stone fruits for some reason. Cheers Francie
