Common fig... leaf curl (forum)

My common edible fig has a problem with leaf curl as per pics.
Tree is over 25 years and was cut back last winter to bare main trunk and branches.
Damage is worst on current new growth but some of the early season (now big leaf) growth is showing signs.
There appears to be a small "whitish" fly attacking the leaf.
Suggestions?

Sounds like whitefly because figs dont suffer from prunus curly leaf virus. I would try garlic spray but try to cover all the leaves both sides!
Whitefly are very attracted to the colour yellow & so finely spraying something like a fluoro safety jacket with liquid glue & hanging it in the tree can catch them in their thousands!

Thanks snottiegobble.
Exactly the problem. A good prune and spray has resulted in a much happier tree.
Advice passed on to another 3 people in Tamworth and all very happy.
Thanks.
