Larry Powers starts with ... I have moved to this coastal community 1 hour north of Sydney. I have a very small front yard and wish to plant a dwarf fruit tree in it. Please recommomend something that will grow well, bear fruit and not grow too big. Thank you. Pictures - Click to enlarge | Picture: 1 | | |

ScottG says... I too have a dwarf red mulberry ('Red Shahtoot'). It was planted 2 years ago and is about 2.5m tall by 2m wide. I prune it a little. It produces fruit once a year. Being deciduous it has the advantage of letting in the sunshine during winter. I am very happy with this little tree. | About the Author Scott G Nerang 22nd June 2007 10:38am #UserID: 44 Posts: 117

Correy says... ScottG,
With your dwarf mulberry after you get a harvest make sure you prune it back that way you will get another crop.
It is possible to get up to 3 crops this way. | About the Author Correy Woolloongabba 22nd June 2007 7:37pm #UserID: 3 Posts: 493

Larry Powers says... Thank you to Steve, Scott G, and Corey E. I will consider the dwarf mulberry, but if in 2 years it already is 2.5m tall X2m wide, how big is it going to get?
