Feijoa sourcing?

    2 responses

I'm interested in growing some feijoas as I really miss the ones are my parents' garden. Does anyone know where I can get good ones in Victoria? Daleys is unable to send them here, and Diggers has unnamed cultivars. Should I risk Diggers? They said theirs are just cuttings from a good fruiting tree. In that case, should I just get cuttings from my parents' trees? Or is there somewhere else I can get quality named plants?

Some feijoas take easily from cuttings and some don't. Unfortunately it is usually the best or named varieties that won't strike.
If you can't get any feijoas I will be growing a heap from seed from a local good fruiting tree (unnamed) this year when the fruit ripens in about 6 weeks. I can get some growing for you if you want.
Cheers,
Rowan

Perrys fruit and nut in SA (google them) have the Mammoth cultivar and another named variety. They can ship to vic.
